Add DivestMe to ChatGPT
ChatGPT accepts custom MCP connectors by URL on paid plans. Setup is one pasted URL; there is no key to configure.
Steps
Open Settings → Connectors, choose to add a custom connector, and paste the endpoint URL. On plans where custom connectors are gated behind developer mode, enable Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode first.
https://www.divest.me/api/mcp
ChatGPT discovers the tool automatically once the connector is added. Platform menus move; if the path above has shifted, search the platform’s settings for “connectors.”
Prompts to try
Once connected, describe the position in your own words — the assistant reaches for the tool when the situation matches. For example:
- “Can I write off my failed startup investment? The company shut down last year.”
- “I have a dead LLC interest that still sends me a K-1 every year. How do I get it off my books?”
- “My Wefunder investment went to zero — no buyer, no market. What are my options?”
What happens after you ask
If the assistant stages candidate positions, you receive a magic link. Nothing is sold and nothing is charged by that step: you follow the link, review each position, and decide — with your tax advisor — whether to proceed. The staged draft carries no personal identifiers and stays claimable for 12 months, so there is no urgency. A watermarked specimen of the documentation package is at /specimen for you or your advisor to read before anything is decided.
DivestMe documents a completed sale and determines nothing — not eligibility, not deductibility, not the applicable tax year. Those are yours and your tax advisor’s. Full agent-facing documentation is at /agents.
